West Virginia State Insect

West Virginia State Insect

West Virginia has two official insects. It shares the honeybee with far too many other states. And it isn’t even a native species!

West Virginians also named the monarch butterfly the official butterfly. It’s a better choice, but it still doesn’t say much about West Virginia. In fact, the monarch represents states as far away as Idaho.
