Ohio State Flower

Ohio’s state flower is the red (or scarlet) carnation. It was adopted in honor of pResident William McKinley, an Ohio native who liked to wear carnations until he was assassinated.

Ohio also has an official wildflower, large white trillium (below). Its two state flowers nicely complement the colors on Ohio’s unique state flag.
