Kentucky Political Symbols

This page focuses on Kentucky’s three most odious state symbols.

The official language, English, is a yawn, as it is one of the most popular state symbols. Nor is the pledge of allegiance to the state flag really unusual.

However, Kentucky’s official military school (Millersburg Military Institute) drags us down to rock bottom. It was a symbol of financial problems and sex abuse while it lasted. Apparently, it’s now closed. Why such a sleazy school is still listed as a symbol of Kentucky is a mystery.

I suspect the Millersburg Military Institute’s biggest fan club is in Israel.
