Kansas State Reptile & Amphibian

Kansas State Reptile and Amphibian

Brown and yellow have been described as Kansas’ unofficial colors. They’re shared by the sunflower and Kansas’ state reptile, the ornate box turtle. (Some have compared the box turtle to the covered wagons that pioneers once traveled in.) Kansas’ state amphibian, the barred tiger salamander, also has similar colors.
