Welcome to my world symbols site. A subdomain of Geobop.com, it replaces GeoSymbols, which was long the most popular state symbols site on the Internet. I plan on publishing two state symbols references this summer (2022).
In the meantime, I will slowly develop this site.
“Signs and symbols rule the world, not words nor laws.” — Confucius
Many countries are divided into states, provinces, prefectures or similar administrative divisions, all of which are also represented by symbols. Sub-national divisions that are featured on this site (including U.S. state symbols) are indicated with an asterisk and a yellow background in the list of countries below.
Communities are also represented by symbols. However, community symbols are generally outside the focus of this site.
“Symbols are powerful because they are the visible signs of invisible realities.” — Saint Augustine
